The service will be organized by various participants, including Theresa Sperling and pupils from Uelsen's secondary schools, who will bring the theme of peace and remembrance to life with creative contributions.
Afterwards, visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about the moving fate of Uelsen pastor Dr. Heinrich Bernds during the National Socialist era in the tower of the Protestant Reformed Church in Uelsen.
In the afternoon, the commemoration will continue with a second service as part of the interdenominational cooperation:
At 2.30 pm, an interdenominational commemoration service will take place in the Kandelaarkerk (Weidebuurt 9, Hardenberg-Heemse, Netherlands) on the theme of "80 years of peace". This service will also focus on cross-border solidarity and shared remembrance.
