Itterbeck Forest Cemetery

The forest cemetery was officially opened in 2001.

The area is located near the "Egger Riesen" and roughly in the geographical center of the municipality.

In addition to the residents of the municipality of Itterbeck, citizens of Wielen and Getelomoor can also be buried at the cemetery.

A change in burial culture can be observed. In recent times, the so-called open burial - a small stone slab set into the lawn with an inscription - has become predominant.

The generously designed cemetery building includes three burial rooms, a chapel with an organ (approx. 300 seats) and a grove room with a kitchen and sanitary facilities.

Itterbeck Forest Cemetery has developed into a universally recognized facility.
