The Seniors' Advisory Council is the point of contact for all senior citizens in the joint municipality of Uelsen. It works on a voluntary basis, is independent, non-denominational and politically neutral.
The members of the Seniors' Advisory Council are appointed by the member municipalities of the joint municipality of Uelsen. The municipality of Uelsen appoints 4 persons. The municipalities of Itterbeck, Wilsum, Getelo, Gölenkamp, Halle and Wielen each appoint 1 person.
Meetings of the Seniors' Advisory Council:
The meetings of the Senior Citizens' Advisory Council take place in a 2-month cycle on the last Wednesday morning at 09.00 a.m. in odd-numbered months. Guests are welcome at the public meeting in order to get to know the interests and concerns.
Tasks of the Senior Citizens' Advisory Council:
The task of the Seniors' Advisory Council is to draw the attention of the Council, the administration and the public to the interests and concerns of older people and to work towards their consideration. The Senior Citizens' Advisory Council forms opinions and exchanges experiences on all issues affecting senior citizens.
As part of its public relations work, the Seniors' Advisory Council informs older people about important issues that affect them.
It is involved in the planning and implementation of measures and programs for older people in the joint municipality of Uelsen and supports older people in their concerns.
