Hello observation tower

Hall

Hall

The municipality of Halle is located to the south of Uelsen. The former municipality of Hardingen was incorporated in 1974. The district of "Hesingen", also known as "Niedergrafschafter Schweiz", is a popular destination for excursions. Hesingen is one of the oldest communities in the county of Bentheim. The village was mentioned as early as 779 under the name "Hasungen". There used to be many burial mounds here, but today they are few and far between and are listed as historical monuments.

Worth seeing is a watermill with a mill pond in Hardingen, "Nordbecks Mühle" was first mentioned in a document in 1610.

On the "Lönsberg" (highest point 89 m above sea level) there is a viewing tower with a platform 22 m above sea level. From there you have a wonderful panoramic view. Even in light fog you can see the church towers in Vasse (NL) and Uelsen, and on a clear day you can even see as far as Nordhorn, Lingen and Bad Bentheim.
In Halle-Hesingen (near the observation tower) there is a beautiful heathland area ("Hügelgräberheide Hesingen"), which continues into the Noord-Twentsche Netherlands.

Coat of arms of the municipality of Halle

Coat of arms hall

In the upper part of the coat of arms there are three large yellow circles representing the districts of Halle, Hesingen and Hardingen. They are set against a green background, which is intended to indicate that Halle is a rural community with a large green area. The central area of the coat of arms is sand-colored like the Hesinger Heide. There are four symbols on this light yellow background: a mill wheel, a lookout tower, a boundary stone and three heather bushes. They symbolize special features and places of interest in the municipality: Nordbeck's mill, the observation tower on the Lönsberg, the proximity to the Dutch border and the barrow heath in Hesingen. The lower part of the coat of arms is wavy blue as a symbol of the river Dinkel, which borders the municipality to the east.
