The tasks of the joint municipal mayor are very varied and extensive. To name the most important ones: The mayor is the representative of the joint municipality to the outside world, head of the joint municipality administration and supervisor of all employees. He prepares the meetings of the joint municipal council and the committees, convenes them and implements the resolutions of the committees. He is also the municipal director of the municipality of Uelsen.
The mayor of the joint municipality of Uelsen is Hajo Bosch (CDU). He was elected mayor by the citizens of the joint municipality on May 26, 2019. Hajo Bosch was born in Uelsen, is married and has two children.

Dear fellow citizens, dear guests of the joint municipality of Uelsen,
I would like to welcome you to our joint municipality of Uelsen. Our municipality is home to more than 11,400 people who live in seven member municipalities. With a total area of 193 square kilometers, we are the largest municipality in the county of Grafschaft Bentheim and, as the westernmost municipality in Lower Saxony, the link between the county of Bentheim and the Netherlands (Dutch province of Overijssel).
The first people lived and worked here over 3000 years ago. The most important source of these settlements is the "Golden Beaker", which was found in 1840 on the Spöllberg, north-east of Uelsen, and dated to the Bronze Age. At the Bronze Age farm you have the opportunity to travel back in time and experience life and farming during the Bronze Age with all your senses.
Our region is attractive in many ways. The striking hilly terminal moraine landscape with its wide expanses of heathland and woodland, meadows and fields can be explored on a number of well-developed cycle and hiking trails and offers picturesque views. Our numerous overnight accommodation options, the attractively situated caravan site and the campsites also invite you to stay a little longer.
Whether for families, leisure or work, our joint municipality has a lot to offer. Residential areas with attractive residential locations have been developed in all member municipalities, making it possible to live where others go on vacation. Excellent daycare centers and educational facilities allow for a good work-life balance.
In addition to the beautiful landscape, the joint municipality offers visitors a wide range of leisure and recreational activities, buildings worth seeing and a broad cultural offering. A large swimming pool landscape, the adventure playground, the local farms, the diverse sports facilities, windmills and water mills and much more make our municipality worth living and loving.
In addition, manufacturing, trade and agriculture fulfill important functions within the joint municipality and offer excellent working conditions.
